 Angela Pietropinto was a founding member of the MANHATTAN PROJECT THEATRE CO. under the direction of Andre Gregory and made her first professional appearance in the title role in their Obie-winning production of ALICE IN WONDERLAND. Since then she has enjoyed a career in leading and featured roles on Broadway, off-Broadway, regional theatre, television and films.
On Film Ms. Pietropinto portrayed Marj Weiner , the mother from hell, in Todd Solondz's WELCOME TO THE DOLLHOUSE which won the 1995 Sundance Grand Jury Prize; she reprised the role for Mr. Solondz's most recent film, PALINDROMES. Other film credits include SHAFT, NOBODY'S FOOL, GOODFELLAS, SO FINE, WITHOUT A TRACE, RUNNING ON EMPTY, HEARTBURN, IT COULD HAPPEN TO YOU, and HONEYMOON IN VEGAS. This past year, Ms. Pietropinto worked with Marc Forster (MONSTER'S BALL) on the soon -to- be- released STAY and Ed Burns on LOOKING FOR KITTY. Independent films, TALE OF TWO PIZZAS, which won the Audience Favorite Prize at the Sarasota Film Festival, and LITTLE KINGS are now being screened at film festivals both here and in Italy. Her performance in 920 MONROE garnered her a nomination for best actress at the Des Moines Wild Rose Film Festival.
On the little screen she has played an assortment of moms, doctors, lawyers. secretaries and nuns on LAW & ORDER, THE THIRD WATCH, CRIMINAL INTENT, SVU, LATELINE, MAD ABOUT YOU, THE COSBY SHOW, DAVE CHAPPELLE and NY UNDERCOVER. This past summer she appeared on Fox as Roberta Waverly, jury foreperson, on THE JURY. Soap Fans may remember her as Jean Slocum on ALL MY CHILDREN or Connie Corelli on ANOTHER WORLD.
